We are the . . .
SAN FERNANDO
VALLEY
YACHT
CLUB
While our home is in the Valley, most of our races are run out of Marina del Rey, and we hold a regatta at Lake Piru, CA, in the first weekend of May of each year. We also have an active social schedule featuring great parties, and run several cruises each year, both one-day and overnight (use the links at the left to see our schedules).
Our sailors have earned trophies in the SCYA Midwinter Regatta, and in distance races to San Diego and Ensenada. Our burgee has flown from the mastheads of our cruising boats in exotic places from Hawaii, Tahiti, and Alaska to many Caribbean ports.
San Fernando Valley Yacht Club, Inc, was formed in 1960 by members of several local families, and members' boats now range from Day Sailers to a Hunter 40. The Club is now a member of the United States Sailing Association and the Southern California Yachting Association (SCYA). In
1999 and again in 2000, our club was recognized for its activities by
receiving SCYA's prestigious Club of the Year award.
You are invited to
attend our meetings the second Friday of each month at 7:30 pm at: Galpin
Ford's Community Room, 15505 Roscoe Blvd, Sepulveda, CA (Just east of the
405 Freeway at the Roscoe Exit)
